Just over four months after the launch of the Phone 2A, Nothing has already launched its follow-up, the Phone 2A Plus. In smartphone naming, "Plus" is usually used to indicate a model with a larger screen, but that's not the case here. The Phone 2A Plus has the same 6.7-inch OLED screen on the front, a gleaming Glyph back, a 5000mAh battery, and NFC on the back as the 2A.

The biggest upgrade to the Phone 2A Plus is the new MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G processor, which is currently exclusive to Nothing. The company claims it is nearly 10% faster than the processor used in the Phone 2A and has a 30% faster GPU.

With the previous 2A, Nothing proved that budget phones don't have to skimp on design, and Plus adds two new metal colors: one is the latest black, and the other is gray that simulates the look of raw metal.

Even with the upgrades in performance and style, the budget phone will still cost £399 in the UK and $399 in the US for a model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That's £50/$50 more than the 12GB version of the Phone 2A, and the company will continue to sell both models.

There are other improvements, too. The front camera resolution of the Phone 2A Plus has been increased from 32 megapixels to 50 megapixels, and Nothing says that an improved portrait algorithm helps enhance facial features like eyes and facial hair. Finally, the maximum wired charging power has been increased from 45W on the 2A to 50W on the 2A Plus, but there is still no wireless charging.

The Nothing Phone 2A Plus will be available first at the company's Soho store in London at 11 a.m. Beijing time on August 3. It will be available in the US market at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on August 7, but it can only be purchased through Nothing's US beta program, and like the Phone 2A, it has limited support for US networks.
