【Pacific Technology News】Recently, Samsung Electronics announced for the first time the existence of its new generation mobile processor Exynos 2500 in its second quarter 2024 earnings conference call. This chip uses a 3nm process and is Samsung's second 3nm chip after the Exynos W1000, and will be used in some Galaxy S25 series smartphones.

Samsung's System LSI division is working hard to ensure a stable supply of Exynos 2500 chips to meet the needs of flagship products. Due to the positive market response to the Exynos W1000, Samsung is confident in the performance and energy efficiency of the Exynos 2500 chip using the second-generation GAA process.

According to the information collected, Samsung is expected to use the Exynos 2500 chip in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ in most markets, but in some regions including China and North America, it may choose to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. As for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

The Exynos 2500 chip will have 10 cores, including a 3.2GHz Cortex-X5 core, three 2.3-2.5GHz Cortex-A730 cores, two slightly lower Cortex-A730 cores, and four Cortex-A520 cores. In terms of graphics processing, the Exynos 2500 is expected to be equipped with the self-developed Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD's RDNA3 architecture.
