The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be released early next year, but leaks have already given us some idea of what it will be. According to a new report, the S25 Ultra may have a significant upgrade in memory over its predecessor. Tipster @UniverseIce claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer up to 16GB of memory. If true, this would mean a significant upgrade over the S24 Ultra, which had up to 12GB of memory.

While the leaker didn't mention the S25 Ultra by name, his recent posts have been almost exclusively about Samsung, suggesting this particular piece of news is about the South Korean company's upcoming flagship.

Another tipster, @theonecid, also seems to confirm the rumor, claiming that the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus will have up to 12GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have 16GB. Neither post explicitly states that they are talking about the higher-end models, but it is likely that this is the case, which means that the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus may still have 8GB of RAM, while the base S25 Ultra may only have 12GB of RAM.

That is, if CID's post is accurate, it would mean that the top-end Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra will get 4GB more RAM than their respective predecessors; however, there is no such upgrade plan for the S25 Plus. This is because the regular S24 only has a maximum of 8GB of RAM, while the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra can go up to 12GB of RAM.

Relatedly, a report earlier this year claimed that the Galaxy S25 series will be equipped with LPDDR6 memory, which is also an upgrade from the DDR5 memory in the Galaxy S24 series devices. Another recent post from @UniverseIce claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery and 45W wired charging speed. These specifications are the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which means that the next-generation Samsung flagship may not offer the battery upgrade that many people are hoping for.

It’s worth noting that these rumors have not been officially confirmed by Samsung, so take them with a pinch of salt.
