Foreign media GameIndustry published an article to discuss whether the release of "GTA6" can prompt players to upgrade their PS4 to PS5.

In May this year, Sony revealed that although the PS5 has been on the market for four years, 50% of users are still using the PS4. GameIndustry believes that part of the reason is related to the popularity of online service games-except for "Unruly Alliance", the popular online service games on the market support PS4.

At the same time, data from market analysis firm Ampere shows that among the more than 20 million active users of "GTAOL", PS4 is the most used platform, far ahead of other platforms.

Piers Harding-Rolls, chief game analyst at Ampere, said: "When GTA6 is released, more GTAOL players will switch to the latest consoles. However, there may still be a considerable number of players who continue to use old devices or PCs. It is foreseeable that Rockstar will continue to operate GTAOL, but this means that they need to maintain multiple communities at the same time because the user base will be divided after the release of GTA6."

GameIndustry pointed out that in times of economic instability and rising living costs, players' spending will become conservative. But if there is a game that can arouse people's desire to upgrade their equipment, it must be "GTA6".
