During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Gaoju Innovation's drone formation performance.

Gaoju's innovative drone formation performance is lifelike.

From the "three-in-one" to the world-renowned "Shenzhen manufacturing" continues to move towards "Shenzhen smart manufacturing", and has become the "golden signboard" of my country's manufacturing industry going overseas. On July 27 this year, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games kicked off on the banks of the Seine. A group of Shenzhen companies such as Gaoju Innovation, Xidesheng, Unilumin Technology, Absen, and Aoyadi brought "Shenzhen smart manufacturing" to the Olympic Village, including drone formation performances, ubiquitous giant screen LED displays, and MGI's gene sequencer working with the Olympic Committee to carry out anti-doping research. Behind the shining "Shenzhen smart manufacturing" in the Paris Olympics, it has become a general trend for Chinese companies to "go out or be eliminated."

Gaoju Innovation Drone Formation will perform at the Palace of Versailles until the end of the Olympics

Soaring, taking off, changing formations and lights... On July 14, during the celebration of the arrival of the Paris Olympic flame in France, Shenzhen's national specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise Gaoju Innovation used its innovative drone formation performance to transform "Olympic elements" such as the Olympic rings, the Paris Olympic emblem, and torchbearers to light up the night sky of Paris.

Li Chenliang of Gaoju Innovation introduced that Gaoju Innovation began to enter the field of drone manufacturing in 2014. In 2018, Gaoju Innovation found a development track suitable for itself, drone formation performances, and each of its drones is independently developed and produced. From mold design and production, material selection to electronic assembly, quality testing and other links, a complete R&D and production system has been formed, which has made up for the shortcomings of domestic drone production efficiency. In recent years, thousands of drone formation performances have been presented in more than 400 cities around the world, accounting for more than 70% of the global market in this segment, and the company has become the world's leading supplier of drone formation systems.

From July to September, Gaoju Innovation's drone formation will perform for a long time at the Palace of Versailles until the end of the Paris Olympics.

Another company from Shenzhen, Absen, provided LED display technology for the event, offering high-quality LED screens and service guarantees for the Olympic opening ceremony, major event venues and core areas, creating a "feast of light and shadow" and an immersive viewing experience for on-site audiences.

During the Olympic Games, more than 50 Absen large screens will be used in core areas such as the Bercy Arena, the Stade de France, the fan viewing area, the City Hall Square and other Olympic venues, as well as major traffic arteries. The main products used are high-end rental PL series and A series outdoor advertising screens.

It is worth noting that, in relation to the fairness and justice of the Olympic Games, on July 26, Professor Yannis Pitsiladis, member of the International Olympic Committee's Medical and Scientific Committee, member of the International Olympic Committee's Paris Olympic Games Team, and Director of the Department of Sports, Physical Education and Health of Hong Kong Baptist University, announced cooperation with Shenzhen-based Huada Intelligent Manufacturing in sports and anti-doping research. Both parties will leverage their respective strengths and be committed to using faster and more accurate methods to detect blood doping and defend the spirit of fair competition in sports.

According to the classification of the International Olympic Committee, blood doping is a type of doping, which is a means of inducing an increase in red blood cells by means of blood transfusion to improve athletic ability. The use of blood doping not only violates sports ethics and medical ethics, but also has unavoidable damage to human health.

Yu Dejian, President of MGI, said: "We are pleased to support anti-doping research through scientific technology and platform tools, and to showcase our technology at the world-class event of the Olympic Games. Just like the Olympic spirit of 'faster, higher, stronger', MGI is also challenging the limits in the field of life sciences, hoping that through technological breakthroughs, it will be applied in more fields."

It is reported that MGI will also bring two gene sequencers and the AlphaTool automated liquid handling robot to the Paris Olympic Athletes Activity Center.

AI smart basketball products provide data analysis and optimize competitive strategies for the Chinese national team

The reason why "Shenzhen Smart Manufacturing" can shine at the Paris Olympics is inseparable from its full technological "gold content". Starting from "three-in-one" and "supplementary", over the past 40 years, "Shenzhen Manufacturing" has gone through three stages: traditional manufacturing, precision manufacturing, and intelligent manufacturing. By vigorously developing high-tech industries, strategic emerging industries and future industries, it has moved towards high-end equipment manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing, and gradually gained a firm foothold in the global industrial chain value chain.

How does artificial intelligence empower the Olympics? "Shenzhen Smart Manufacturing" has the answer. Previously, Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, said that artificial intelligence can provide more athletes with personalized training methods, better sports equipment, and more personalized fitness and health plans. Artificial intelligence will greatly improve the efficiency of organizing sports events, change the way sports are broadcasted, and make the audience experience more personalized and immersive.

During the Paris Olympics, SenseTime, an artificial intelligence company from Shenzhen, used its AI smart basketball products throughout the Chinese national basketball team's journey, providing sports data analysis and competitive strategy optimization support.

SenseTime Technology's relevant person in charge told the reporter of Nanduwan Finance that it had officially become the strategic partner of artificial intelligence of the Chinese National Basketball Team, integrated AI technology into Chinese basketball, and developed the sports performance analysis platform of the Chinese National Basketball Team. By building a three-dimensional model of the venue and a 3D motion capture algorithm, it can analyze the movement status of each athlete and the movement trajectory of the basketball in real time.

In addition to the overseas expansion of technology products, examples of Shenzhen companies’ brands going overseas can also be seen in Paris. As one of the leading Chinese companies going overseas and the official partner of the Chinese women’s basketball team, TCL enhances the global influence and reputation of Chinese brands by sponsoring international sports events. In an interview with a reporter from Nanduwan Finance, TCL founder and chairman Li Dongsheng said that China’s manufacturing industry must actively adapt to changes in the global situation. China’s manufacturing capacity accounts for 30% of the world, while the Chinese market can absorb less than 20%. "Globalization has become a must-answer question for Chinese companies. If they don’t go overseas, they will be out. As a pioneer in the globalization of Chinese companies, they should firmly adhere to the globalization strategy, achieve win-win results and share benefits by promoting overseas localized operations, and promote the continued growth of overseas revenues."

Taking advantage of the Paris Olympics, "Shenzhen Smart Manufacturing" once again went global, proving the hard-core strength of "Made in China" to the world. As Jeff Williams, COO of Apple, said when he visited the Shenzhen-Dongguan Smart Manufacturing Factory, without the Chinese "Apple chain", there would be no success for Apple. It can also be seen that in the context of economic globalization, "Made in China" is contributing positively to the development of the global manufacturing industry and playing a pivotal role.
