Cailianshe News, July 30 (Editor: Xia Junxiong)On Monday (July 29th) local time, Apple released a beta version of "Apple Intelligence", which is currently only open to developers.

Apple released developer beta versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 on Monday, allowing users to experience some of the features of "Apple Intelligence", which are currently only available to Apple developers. The annual fee for the Apple Developer Program is $99.

Apple first announced "Apple Smart" at this year's WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). Earlier media reports said that the release time of "Apple Smart" will be later than expected, and Apple will push software upgrades including "Apple Smart" to users before the end of October, instead of releasing it together with the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems in September.

Analysts believe that with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), "Apple intelligence" will significantly boost sales of Apple devices such as the iPhone.

"We expect the strong iPhone cycle to last longer as the iPhone's AI capabilities (software and likely hardware) improve in 2025," Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan said in a note Monday.

It should be noted that only some Apple devices can experience the "Apple Smart" functions in advance, including iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac equipped with Apple's self-developed chips.

In the beta version released on Monday, users can experience the following "Apple smart" features in advance:

New Siri: A new look that makes the edges of the display glow; can now answer troubleshooting questions about Apple products; can better understand commands even if the speaker misspoke or changed the question mid-sentence.

Writing Tools: As long as users can copy and paste text, AI can proofread and rewrite text, summarize a large paragraph, and even distill it into a list or table.

Photos: The Photos app supports everyday language searches and can create videos based on text prompts.

In addition, the initial version of "Apple Intelligence" also includes transcriptions and summaries of phone calls and recordings, as well as AI-generated summaries of messages, emails, and notifications.
