Beijing, July 28 (Reporter Li Hongmei) The reporter learned from the China Meteorological Administration that recently, for the first time, all 120 Beidou sounding stations across the country have achieved real-time uploading of all sounding data to the China Meteorological Administration's meteorological big data cloud platform "Tianqing" system, marking that my country has officially launched a comprehensive Beidou sounding parallel comparison.

Parallel comparison means that in the same period and the same area, L-band sounding and Beidou sounding are used for synchronous observation, and the observation data are comprehensively and systematically compared and analyzed. Since the Beidou sounding system networking observation business pilot was launched in the Guangdong Meteorological Department in August 2022, after hard work, the construction of Beidou sounding systems at 120 sounding stations has been completed, and parallel comparisons have been carried out nationwide for the first time. The upgrading of the meteorological sounding system has made important phased progress. Guo Qiyun, deputy director of the Base Office of the Meteorological Detection Center of the China Meteorological Administration, said that the Beidou sounding data is accurate overall and more accurate in details.

In the next step, the China Meteorological Administration will continue to promote the upgrading of meteorological sounding systems. It is expected that by the end of 2025, my country will have built a ground-to-air Internet of Things with a station spacing of about 150 kilometers, and the Beidou sounding system will be officially put into operation, realizing the upgrading of the meteorological sounding system.
