People's Daily Online, Paris, July 26 (Reporter He Qian) On July 25, BOE and UNESCO signed a three-year partnership agreement at the headquarters in Paris, France, based on the resolution of the International Decade of Science for Sustainable Development 2024-2033 (hereinafter referred to as the "Science Decade"). As a partner of the United Nations "Science Decade", BOE has also become the first Chinese technology company to support the United Nations "Science Decade".

At the signing ceremony, Ms. Lidia Arthur Brito, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO, and Si Da, Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of BOE Technology Group, delivered speeches on behalf of the two parties and signed the contract. Wang Ying, Charge d'Affaires of the Permanent Mission of China to UNESCO, attended the event and congratulated the two parties on reaching a cooperation.

Ms. Lydia Arthur Brito, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO, pointed out: "BOE has innovative capabilities in science education and digital technology, which are essential to achieving UNESCO's goals. Our cooperation aims to enhance science education facilities through joint efforts, especially in selected African countries, where BOE will provide smart educational hardware devices to complement UNESCO's science education content. This synergy can improve the efficiency of teaching and learning inside and outside the classroom, thereby improving global science literacy."

Wang Ying, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Permanent Delegation of China to UNESCO, pointed out: "China has been actively supporting UNESCO's Natural Science Sector in building scientific capacity and mobilizing scientific knowledge to address complex global challenges. Under the coordination of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, BOE has joined hands with UNESCO and became the first Chinese company to support the 'Decade of Science'. The Chinese government will provide all necessary support for the cooperation between the two sides, which will also greatly promote the improvement of global scientific literacy and digital innovation, thereby truly promoting the development of science as a global public welfare cause."

Si Da, vice president and chief brand officer of BOE Technology Group, said that science and technology are currently facing many challenges in promoting sustainable development. BOE is willing to work with UNESCO to empower the implementation of the "Decade of Science" initiative with innovative technology, and through a series of projects that support scientific and technological innovation and promote scientific and technological progress, strengthen open science and knowledge sharing, thereby improving the level of global scientific education and enhancing human well-being.

In August 2023, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the "Decade of Science" resolution and invited UNESCO to take the lead in its implementation, emphasizing the importance of science to sustainable development, developing science and scientific culture, and using science to lead the sustainable development of the economy, society and environment.
