Shenzhen News Network, July 27, 2024 (Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reporter Zhou Yumeng) Yesterday, the latest mobile phone quarterly tracking report released by International Data Corporation IDC showed that in the second quarter of 2024, China's smartphone market shipments were approximately 71.58 million units, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%, continuing its growth momentum.

Among them, vivo ranked first in China's smartphone market with a market share of 18.5%, a year-on-year increase of 17.1%; Huawei ranked second with a market share of 18.1%, a year-on-year increase of more than 50%; OPPO ranked third in the market with a market share of 15.7%; Honor ranked fourth with a market share of 14.5%; Xiaomi's shipments increased by 16.5% year-on-year, ranking fifth with a market share of 14%.

The latest report released by another authoritative organization, Canalys, shows that in the second quarter of 2024, the top five brands in terms of shipments in the Chinese mobile phone market are vivo, OPPO, Honor, Huawei, and Xiaomi.

In both lists, domestic mobile phone brands took the top five spots in the Chinese market, with Apple ranking sixth. In this regard, some analysts believe that for Apple, the competitive pressure from competing products such as Huawei Honor is increasing, and Apple itself is adjusting its channels, so its shipments have declined.

In the high-end market, in the second quarter of 2024, China's market share of high-end mobile phones above US$600 reached 25.9%, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%; in the folding screen market, in the second quarter of 2024, China's folding screen mobile phone market increased by 104.6% year-on-year, and shipments reached 2.57 million units. Among them, Huawei ranked first with a market share of 41.7%; vivo folding screen rose to second place, with a share of 23.1%; Honor ranked third with a share of 20.9%; OPPO ranked fourth with a market share of 8.4%; Samsung ranked fifth with a market share of 3.0%. Folding screen mobile phones have become the key to differentiated competition between Android phones and Apple in the high-end market.

Among the top five domestic mobile phone brands, Huawei and Honor are from Shenzhen. In the field of consumer electronics, Shenzhen has always been a leader in the global mobile phone industry, known for its mature and complete industrial chain, and has gathered many well-known domestic brands such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. They have set up headquarters, R&D centers and production bases here to bring high-quality mobile phone products to global consumers.
