As we all know, the reports issued by the three well-known data research companies are generally ranked by shipments. BCI is ranked by activations, which is relatively more representative of the actual sales of each brand. Just like in the second quarter of China, the rankings of shipments and activations are completely different.

Please pay attention to the above picture, which is the domestic activation data for the second quarter. The data shows:

Champion: vivo (including iQOO), with 11.9506 million activations and a market share of 17.93%, a year-on-year increase of 7.17%;

Runner-up: Xiaomi, with 10.6316 million activations and a market share of 15.95%, a year-on-year increase of 19.65%;

Third place: Apple, with 10.1773 million activations and a market share of 15.27%, down 1.88% year-on-year;

Fourth: OPPO (including OnePlus and realme), with 10.1173 million activations and a market share of 15.17%, down 18.07% year-on-year;

Fifth: Huawei, with 9.9499 million activations and a market share of 14.93%, a year-on-year increase of 42.53%;

Sixth: Honor, with 9.9034 million activations and a market share of 14.93%, a year-on-year increase of 6.93%.

Judging from this data, vivo is in a class of its own. Xiaomi, Apple, and OPPO are in the same class. Huawei and Honor are almost on par with each other and are considered in the same class. A small problem is that this data also includes realme in OPPO. If realme is not counted, OPPO should be the brand with the least activations. Of course, this is just a small detail. Overall, among the top six brands, only Apple and OPPO are declining year-on-year, but Apple's decline is only in the single digits and can be ignored. As for OPPO's decline, it cannot be ignored. It has fallen by nearly 20%, making it the only brand among the top five domestic brands to decline year-on-year. In terms of growth, Huawei has the largest growth rate, and Xiaomi ranks second.

In fact, the most outstanding brand in this ranking should be Xiaomi, because it is not surprising that vivo ranks first, but Xiaomi's ranking second is beyond industry expectations. This should be the highest ranking of Xiaomi in recent years. You should know that Xiaomi had the fewest models in the first half of the year, while other brands basically played the strategy of launching a large number of models.
