Trump responds to Biden's withdrawal from the race

According to China News Network, Reuters reported that former US President Trump told CNN on the 21st local time that he believed that if Harris won the party nomination, she would be "easier to defeat than Biden" in the November election.

According to the New York Post, Trump also criticized Biden as "the worst president in American history."

However, in an interview with US media a few days ago, Trump said that his campaign will emphasize "unity" rather than "differences" with Biden.

On July 18, local time, as the Republican National Convention was held in Wisconsin, Trump officially announced his acceptance of the presidential candidate nomination. "Wisconsin is the starting point for Trump's return to the White House," the Republican National Committee said recently.

In addition, Trump has chosen Ohio Senator James David Vance as his running mate, or vice presidential candidate, to run in this election.

The Associated Press reported that Vance is one of the staunch defenders of "Make America Great Again" in terms of foreign policy, trade and immigration.

Harris says she will do whatever it takes to defeat Trump

According to CCTV, on July 21 local time, US President Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election.

Biden said in a letter posted on his personal social media that day that he had intended to seek re-election, but in the best interests of the Democratic Party and the United States, he decided to withdraw from the presidential race and will focus on completing his presidential duties during his term. Biden said he would explain his decision in detail to the country later this week.

After announcing his withdrawal from the race, Biden expressed his full support and endorsement of US Vice President Harris's nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate.

Harris then expressed her hope to win the Democratic presidential nomination and said she would do everything she could to defeat Republican presidential candidate Trump.

At present, many heavyweights, groups and congressmen within the Democratic Party have expressed their support for Biden's decision to withdraw from the election and support Harris to run for the Democratic Party.

Two major Democratic Party sponsors announced their support for Harris

According to Sina News, after Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 US presidential election, two major Democratic donors - LinkedIn co-founder and venture capital firm Greylock Partners partner Reid Hoffman and Alexander Soros publicly supported Harris as the next presidential candidate.

"The Democratic Party is the party of policy, progress, and action," Hoffman wrote in the statement. "In the choice between Harris and Trump, I am confident that the American people will make the right decision for our country."

Alexander Soros shared a photo of himself with Harris on X and wrote: "I wholeheartedly support Harris for President of the United States. It is time for us to unite around Harris and defeat Trump. She is the best and most qualified candidate we have."
