Wang Shuang, Vice President of OceanBase and General Manager of the Financial and Governmental Enterprise Division, said that currently 70% of banks with assets of more than 100 billion yuan, 75% of leading securities institutions, 65% of leading insurance institutions, and 45% of leading fund companies have chosen OceanBase for core system upgrades, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Sichuan Rural Commercial Bank, China Pacific Insurance, and China Merchants Securities. More than half of them use OceanBase for their core systems.

It is worth noting that IT market research and consulting company IDC also released the report "China's Financial Industry Distributed Transactional Database Market Share, 2023: Technology Verification Completed, Welcome High-Speed ​​Growth" on July 18. According to the report, OceanBase ranks first in two aspects: the first in the local deployment market share of the financial industry and the first in the local deployment market share of the insurance and securities sub-market.

IDC China Research Manager Li Lingxiao pointed out in the report that the actual application value and feasibility of distributed transactional databases have been verified. With the consolidation of technical verification, not only small and medium-sized financial institutions, but also industries such as telecommunications operators, transportation, etc. that are highly dependent on databases and have similar business complexity will accelerate the transformation process.
