Comrade Wang Fang was born in 1920. He was an outstanding leader in my country's public security and justice front, and also a legendary proletarian revolutionary. He was a member of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a member of the Central Advisory Committee, a State Councilor and concurrently the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Public Security. The movie "Qiantang Storm" adapted the real deeds of Wang Fang from May to October 1949 when he followed the Third Field Army to Zhejiang and served as the Deputy Director of the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau to fight against traitors and special agents. The Qiantang City in the film is today's Hangzhou. Screenwriter Xue Qiao said: "In the process of studying "Wang Fang's Memoirs", the theme of the story emerged in my mind-a city, a group of people, a kind of love, work together, and you will definitely win! Then there was this passionate movie."

As a medium-cost mainstream film, the creative team of Qiantang Storm has been thinking about how to attract young audiences to the cinema without violating historical facts since the beginning of the project, making it a "new mainstream film" that is both popular and well-received.
