Ningbo’s latest foreign trade data is released!

According to Ningbo Customs statistics, in the first half of this year, the total value of Ningbo's foreign trade imports and exports was 681.14 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, setting a new historical high. Among them, exports were 445.31 billion yuan, an increase of 9.9%; imports were 235.83 billion yuan, an increase of 8.6%.

From the perspective of foreign trade entities, in the first half of the year, Ningbo's private enterprises imported and exported 513.94 billion yuan, an increase of 11.2%, accounting for 75.4% of Ningbo's total imports and exports during the same period, an increase of 1.2 percentage points over the same period last year.

In terms of trading partners, in the first half of the year, the United States, the European Union and ASEAN were Ningbo’s top three trading partners, with imports and exports of 117.51 ​​billion yuan, 114.08 billion yuan and 86.07 billion yuan respectively, up 15.6%, 4.9% and 17% respectively. The three together accounted for 46.6% of the city’s total imports and exports.

In terms of overall performance, in the first half of the year, Ningbo continued to rank 5th among the top 10 foreign trade cities in the country, ranked 4th in export scale, and ranked 5th in import scale.



Ningbo's foreign trade "improved quality and stable quantity"

Foreign trade is the "beautiful business card" of Ningbo's open economy.

In the first half of the year, the export of Ningbo's traditional advantageous products continued to grow, with the export of mechanical and electrical products reaching 254.06 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8%. Among them, the export of household appliances, electrical equipment, general machinery and equipment, and auto parts were 33.89 billion yuan, 28.38 billion yuan, 19.22 billion yuan, and 15.02 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 16.6%, 5.1%, 27.2%, and 12.8%.

Due to the cyclical recovery of the industry and the influence of the international situation, the demand for containers has increased, and Ningbo's container exports in the first half of the year increased significantly by 453.2%.



During the same period, exports of labor-intensive products amounted to 103.5 billion yuan, up 12.2%. Among them, exports of textiles and clothing, plastic products, and furniture and its parts amounted to 48.75 billion yuan, 25.47 billion yuan, and 14.33 billion yuan, up 5.3%, 14.9%, and 29.5%, respectively.



Against the backdrop of an increasingly complex and uncertain external environment, Ningbo's foreign trade remains vibrant. What's the reason?

However, in Ningbo, the United States and the European Union are still the main trading partners and are the "cake" that foreign trade companies must compete for.

In recent years, Ningbo has been striving to find new drivers in new markets, new formats and new demands, and has reaped rich rewards. According to the data, Ningbo's foreign trade enterprises have grabbed a lot of market share, and innovation is the "big move".

In addition to enterprises, the government is also working hard. For example, in order to solve the problem of inconvenience in the passage of non-bonded cross-border export goods, Meishan Customs dismantled and reshaped the supervision process, innovated the model of classified supervision of goods entering and leaving the comprehensive bonded zone, reduced the content of declaration for entry into the zone by 60%, and saved declaration time for enterprises.

Orders are the "lifeline" of foreign trade companies, and exhibitions are still the most important way for companies to meet customers and obtain orders. It is reported that Ningbo will mobilize all forces to organize more than 10,000 companies to participate in exhibitions abroad, visit customers, build warehouses and websites, expand online customer base, and conduct live marketing throughout the year, striving to achieve the goal of an annual order volume of US$50 billion.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, a relevant official from Ningbo Customs said that despite the uncertainty in the overall external environment, Ningbo's foreign trade is expected to achieve "quality improvement and quantity stability" through corporate innovation, policy support and the development of emerging business formats.
