China News Service, Beijing, July 16 (Reporter Chen Hang) Drone high-altitude firefighting, drone performances... From the 13th to the 16th, the 26th China Beijing International Science and Technology Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Science and Technology Expo) was held in Beijing. Many drone companies brought their products to compete for the "new track" of low-altitude economy.

Qin Rui, director of the Low-Altitude Economy and Low-Altitude Traffic Research Center of Civil Aviation University of China, said that the traditional low-altitude economy is mainly fuel-powered, manned, and uses ground-based communication, navigation, and surveillance technology. Since 2010, a new generation of low-altitude economy has begun, integrating a number of advanced technologies such as new energy propulsion technology, unmanned aviation technology, advanced aviation manufacturing technology, and a new generation of information technology.

With the continuous advancement of technology, the number and types of low-altitude aircraft are increasing, mainly including drones, flying cars, helicopters, eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft), etc., among which drones are the pillar industry of the low-altitude economy.

At this year's Beijing Science and Technology Expo, Zowee Intelligent brought the TS-X12 tethered drone system developed and designed for high-altitude firefighting scenarios in the firefighting field. Yang Linkai, a staff member of the company, said that the drone was launched at the end of 2021 and has the functions of controlled protection against broken propellers, power failure and broken chain landing protection, level 6 wind resistance, and a flight altitude of up to 150 meters. It can carry a heavy load of 75kg, a window-breaking load, a special spray gun for fire extinguishing agents, and an ultra-light fire hose, and can quickly carry out firefighting operations in high-risk fires, and can continuously extinguish fires for more than 4 hours.

Yang Linkai said that compared with conventional drones, the tethered drones launched by the company have greater load capacity, longer hovering time, higher stability and accuracy, and have participated in fire rescue drills many times. It is expected that through the Beijing Science and Technology Expo platform, the company will strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation, explore more low-altitude economic application scenarios, and better develop domestic and foreign markets.

As one of the important manifestations of low-altitude economy, drone performances are low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and high-tech, presenting a visual feast on the sky stage. At this year's Beijing Science and Technology Expo, Yifei Intelligent Control displayed the Agile Bee III drone designed for cluster performances, which has three-dimensional electronic fences, blade protection covers, abnormal slow descent and other functions, and a flight time of 30 minutes.

Li Shangqian, a staff member of the Yifei Intelligent Control Marketing Center, said that the company's drone products can be used in cluster performances, cold fireworks shows, Kongming lantern shows, colored smoke formations, etc., to achieve a variety of aerial 3D visual art effects. Among them, cultural and tourism scenic spots are the key markets for drone performances. At present, the company's products have completed more than 2,000 drone formation performances in more than 200 cities around the world.

The application scenarios of low-altitude economy are constantly enriched and expanded, but it still faces many challenges. Qin Rui mentioned that the development of low-altitude economy is a complex and systematic project. Establishing and improving the policy, legal and standard system and accelerating the construction of infrastructure and low-altitude traffic management and service platforms are important tasks for a period of time in the future. It is necessary to strengthen cross-departmental and cross-industry policy support and coordination to ensure the steady and long-term development of low-altitude economy. (End)
