According to the Red Star Capital Bureau on July 16, on July 15, Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director, chairman of the Terminal BG, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, responded to the reasons for the transfer of trademarks such as "Wenjie" in the "Walking with Hui" live broadcast.

Yu Chengdong said: "The Wenjie brand has been sold to SERES at a very low price because national regulations require that the brand owner and the manufacturer must be united. The brand must be owned by the manufacturer, so we transferred all four 'jies' to the car manufacturer. However, we have invested a lot in Wenjie. In fact, this brand is worth at least tens of billions."

He also said, "Even the AITO (name) has been transferred. It is very difficult to register a brand with four letters starting with AI globally. It is a very good name."

AITO is a new energy vehicle brand jointly created by Huawei and SERES (601127.SH). It was officially launched in December 2021 and has successively launched AITO M5, M7, M9 and other series of models. In June this year, AITO delivered 42,780 vehicles, setting a record high.

It is worth mentioning that Yu Chengdong accidentally revealed that the fourth realm of Hongmeng Intelligent Driving is "Zunjie", not "Aojie" as previously rumored. It is reported that "Zunjie" is positioned as ultra-high-end and the price will be in the millions of yuan level. So far, the four realms of Hongmeng Intelligent Driving are Wenjie, Zhijie, Xiangjie and Zunjie.

On July 2, Red Star Capital reported that SERES announced that its controlling subsidiary SERES Automotive Co., Ltd. intends to acquire 919 registered or pending text and graphic trademarks such as "Wenjie" and 44 related design patents held by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its affiliates, with a total purchase price of 2.5 billion yuan.

Prior to this, Huawei had transferred the "Smart World" and "Enjoy World" trademarks to Chery and BAIC New Energy respectively.
