CDPR's games "The Witcher 3" and "Cyberpunk 2077" are still popular, part of which is attributed to Mods, which are constantly reshaping the way of playing games. CDPR is also well aware of this and knows the significance of Mod authors to the game, so they have brought some talents under their command.

Recently, Pawel Sasko, deputy game director of "Project Orion", the sequel to "Cyberpunk 2077", revealed in an interview with Flow Games that nearly half of the members of the new task team were former mod authors.

Sasko said: "Half of the members of the Cyberpunk new game task team (currently 24 people) were mod authors. They made game mods such as The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. Błażej Augustynek, who is now the task director, was a mod author for StarCraft 1/2."

"We have modders in other departments, and there is a small team called Jigsoft that is made up entirely of modders. There are about 20 of them, and they work with us. Jigsoft is responsible for making the Witcher 3 mod tools, so that anyone can use this set of tools to make quests, NPCs and anything they can imagine."

"When young people ask how to get into the game industry, I always advise them to learn how to make mods first. There are so many toolkits and methods that make it easy. And some of the best talents in our team used to be mod authors." Sasco also revealed that CDPR hired a mod author who remade the prologue of "The Witcher 1" in "The Witcher 3".

CDPR has always maintained a good relationship with Mod authors. Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 are among the most popular games on the Nexus Mod platform, with downloads far exceeding 500 million times. Mods also keep these two games alive.
