IT Home reported on July 16 that consistent with the previously leaked data, AMD confirmed that its Ryzen 9000 series processors are scheduled to be available on July 31, but has not yet announced any pricing information, only providing some additional details about the next-generation CPU.

  • Ryzen 9 9950X: 16 cores, 32 threads, up to 5.7 GHz, 170W

  • Ryzen 9 9900X: 12 cores, 24 threads, up to 5.6 GHz, 120W

  • Ryzen 7 9700X: 8 cores, 16 threads, up to 5.5 GHz, 65W

  • Ryzen 5 9600X: 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 5.4 GHz, 65W

As we know before, this batch of Zen 5 processors will continue to use the same AM5 socket as the Ryzen 7000/8000 series. On average, the IPC of the Ryzen 9000 series is 16% higher than that of the Ryzen 7000 series, and the performance is improved by about 11~22% while the TDP is reduced.

The PPT shows that the average gaming performance of Ryzen 7 9700X is 12% higher than that of the first-generation X3D processor R7 5800X, which confirms what IT Home reported earlier: "The gaming performance cannot be compared with R7 7800X3D."

In addition, the official also announced its "Curve Shaper" overclocking function and confirmed that the 9700X and 9600X maintained the previously announced 65W TDP, and did not overclock to 120W as rumored.
