On July 14, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and China Securities Index Co., Ltd. jointly announced that they will release the Shanghai Stock Exchange Science and Technology Innovation Board Chip Design Theme Index and the Shanghai Stock Exchange Science and Technology Innovation Board Semiconductor Materials and Equipment Theme Index on July 26 to provide the market with more investment targets in the Science and Technology Innovation Board semiconductor industry.

The two proposed Sci-Tech Innovation Board semiconductor sub-theme indices will select 50 and 30 listed company securities from the Sci-Tech Innovation Board chip design field and semiconductor material equipment field as index samples respectively, reflecting the overall performance of Sci-Tech Innovation Board listed companies in the corresponding fields.

As an important hardware foundation for the new generation of information technology such as artificial intelligence and big data, the semiconductor industry is one of the typical representatives of "new quality productivity". The Science and Technology Innovation Board has currently gathered a group of leading semiconductor companies that have made breakthroughs in key core technologies and have high market recognition, covering multiple key links such as design, manufacturing, materials, and equipment. As of June this year, 102 semiconductor industry-related companies have been listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, with a total market value of 1.5 trillion yuan, accounting for 31.7% of the total market value of the Science and Technology Innovation Board.
