recently, the show's chief producer and chief screenwriter zhou jinxiang said in an interview that the story of "haidao" is passionate and inspiring, showing the rugged beauty of xinjiang. the whole drama is set against the background of xinjiang's magnificent natural landscape and rich cultural heritage. it starts with cross-country motorcycle riders and uses this sport as a carrier for the protagonist to present the changes in the fate of the characters. the story incorporates multiple narrative threads of passionate sports, cultural tourism entrepreneurship, and rural revitalization. each character in the play has his own dreams and pursuits, and the characters are connected by motorcycles.

zhou jinxiang recalled that when he was preparing for the tv series "over the hills" in hami, xinjiang in 2017, he accidentally discovered that the people in that land seemed to have a love for cycling. even children coming back from school could easily ride a bicycle. the front of the car is raised. he found that cross-country motorcycle sports were naturally combined with the gobi desert, because motorcycles are the means of transportation for the locals and are also an externalization of emotions. a story about riding in the gobi desert and pursuing dreams gradually came into being. clear.
many characters in the play have real-life prototypes. for example, harik is based on xinjiang motorcyclist zakir, who achieved the best results in asia in the dhaka rally. in addition, the prototype of zhao youwei, the businessman who set up a rally stage for xinjiang and helped this group of young people, is hami entrepreneur xu mingzhong. xilin, secretary of the youth league committee of dabao town, is a portrayal of countless college students who have served in the western plan.

according to director shen yujie, he and haidao have a wonderful fate. as early as 2004, shen yujie came to xinjiang for the first time and went to haidao. "at that time, i was still thinking that if i had the chance, i would ride a motorcycle on the haidao road, or maybe shoot a film and television production here. unexpectedly, my dream really came into reality."
in 2018, shen yujie wanted to film a work related to rally racing, so he invited a technical director. "he is the prototype character of "la hai dao". when we learned about his story at that time, we found it very inspiring and passionate. i discussed with zhou jinxiang that this story could be filmed, and it became the current "haidao"."

the great sea road to the gobi desert was the nearest road between dunhuang-hami-turpan in ancient times. its opening and use began in the han dynasty. after the tang dynasty, official use tended to stop, and the great sea road gradually faded out of people's sight and became a historical artifact. the ancient silk road in memory.
the main filming scene of the tv series "haidao" is in hami, where there are mountains, lakes, forests, and populus euphratica forests. especially the yadan landform of haidao, which brings together beacons, inns, and fossil mountains, is rare. this is the name of the ancient silk road. it also became the origin of the title of the play.

the play went through a three-year preparation period. in order to present the most authentic face of xinjiang, all the exterior scenes of "la daidao" were shot in real scenes. in the play, the actors are speeding in the desert; outside the play, the crew is running in the gobi every day, and hundreds of people are racing against the sun to grab the scene and the light. "the filming of "the great ocean road" was unimaginably difficult!" shen yujie recalled that during the more than three-month filming period, many staff members only rested for five or six hours a day, had to travel hundreds of kilometers, and had to face unexpected events. severe weather such as sandstorms.
there are many scenes of motorcycle riding in the play, and the audience looks excited and shocked, but the filming process is not easy. "motorcycles ride very fast. we have to consider whether the drones and tracking cars can keep up with the speed of the motorcycle. after catching up, we also need to think about how to interact with the motorcycle, so that the audience can have a sense of immersion and be able to emotionally resonate with the protagonist.”

"there is a scene in the play where zhao youwei was depressed after learning that his friend had committed suicide, so he rode a motorcycle alone to the haidao. at that time, there happened to be a sandstorm, bringing a 10-level wind, so we found a reed in the haidao. let the actor lie down in the reed marsh. when the wind blows, the reed marsh will sway like a vast ocean, which will enhance the character's inner sadness." shen yujie recalled the experience at that time as quite unforgettable.

in april this year, the first xinjiang hami 2024 haidao rally was officially launched, and shen yujie attended the opening ceremony. “when we were filming, there was no such thing as the dahai road rally. it wasn’t until the filming of the series was completed that the hami city government and our producers jointly organized a haida road rally. this feeling shocked me. i was in a certain situation. it is a very meaningful thing to have contributed to the hosting of this rally.”
now, "haidao" has ended, but many viewers are attracted by the beautiful scenery in the show. it is reported that during the broadcast, the crew was also actively linking up with local cultural tourism, and many scenes set up by the crew in hami were also being renovated. "the cultural tourism value of hami is very different from other places. i hope that the broadcast of this drama can bring some publicity, help local cultural tourism, bring benefits to the people, and let more people know that xinjiang among the rich cultural and tourism resources is the unique dahai road,” said zhou jinxiang.
