matthew rieb, secretary general of cas, said: "the suspension period is now 18 months, starting from september 11, 2023."

in september 2023, pogba was banned by the italian national anti-doping organization after he was found to have taken dehydroepiandrosterone (dhea), a banned substance that can increase testosterone levels.

pogba, whose contract with juventus runs until june 2026, has denied any wrongdoing and said in february that he would appeal to the court of arbitration for sport. this doping test was conducted after juventus' 3-0 victory over udinese on august 20, 2023.

prohibited "non-endogenous testosterone metabolites" were detected, the court said, adding that the results were "consistent with an exogenous (external) source of the target compound".
