according to foreign reports, google is rolling out ads in ai overview, which means you will now start seeing products in ai-generated snippets on some search engines.

let's say you're looking for ways to remove grass stains from pants.if you ask google, its ai responses will offer tips, as well as recommendations for products to buy that can help you remove stains.

the products will appear under the "sponsored" heading, and google spokesman craig ewer told the verge that they will only appear if the issue has a business angle.

google has been testing ads in ai overviews since may but says it will roll it out across the board as it helps people quickly connect with relevant businesses, products and services to take the next step in the moment they need it.

currently, ads only appear in ai overviews on the us mobile side.microsoft has also included ads in its copilot chatbot and recently changed how ads appear in responses.

google has also made some adjustments to the format of its ai overview. after testing in august, google will now display referring web pages more prominently on the right side of the snippet, as it found this increased traffic to supporting sites compared to the previous design.

it also launched search pages organized by artificial intelligence - a feature that displays a customized results page with relevant information instead of just a list of links. currently, the feature is only available on mobile devices in the united states for searching content related to recipes and meal ideas.
