on october 1, beijing time, the sacramento kings held a media day for the new season. domantas sabonis was interviewed and talked about the team’s new aid demar derozan.

sabonis said he's excited about derozan's arrival. "we have a player that everyone in the league respects. i feel like our main problem last year was mentality. we beat the best team in the league and then lost to a seed the next day. obviously, demar is not going to let this happen.

"we haven't had a veteran with his hall of fame career and his iq. i worked out with him for a few weeks in los angeles and i learned a lot from that little time with him. stuff. the great thing is, besides everyone knowing what he brings to the table, he brings a different mentality to everyone both off the court and in the locker room.

"he's here for the right reasons. he wants to win. for us, i felt like our biggest problem last year was locking down wins in all of our games, and in those games you could see good teams versus the battle of lower seeds ended up putting us in a tough spot and i felt like he was going to bring that veteran presence that we needed.”
