veterans have a new home
"veterans are together, reminiscing about the military camp, talking about business operations, and discussing cooperation." deng dahong, president of the care association, introduced that the zhongxian veterans and care association was established in 2021. the county specially coordinated the construction of about 2,000 square meters at no. 37 binjiang road, zhongzhou street the house is delivered to the association for use. this became the new home for veterans.
the reporter learned at the scene that the office space of the care association is designed into three major sections: "retired soldiers club", "retired soldiers office home" and "retired soldiers entrepreneurship and employment park", and every bit of it contains "military" cultural elements.

"i have received your help..." the care association treasures a letter of thanks written by a junior high school graduate. her father was a retired soldier and died not long after the divorce. the child could not find her mother for a while. she said in the letter, "it was your timely help that saved me from dropping out of school."
this is just a typical example of how the care association cares for veterans and their families. it is understood that the care association has raised more than 2.95 million yuan in care funds to carry out a series of care actions "warm veterans". it has visited 1,309 households of veterans in need, listened to their touching stories of dedication to national defense, learned about their physical conditions and living conditions, and collected the thoughts, expectations, needs and difficulties of retired military personnel.
over the past three years, the care association has visited and expressed condolences to the families of military personnel whose houses were on fire, seriously ill military family members, and retired military personnel who are disabled, participated in wars, returned home with illness, and suffered disasters; purchased supplementary medical insurance for retired military personnel who returned home with illness and seriously ill veterans; and cared about difficulties. for the growth and education of the children of retired military personnel, a total of more than 1.3 million yuan has been provided to support the families of military personnel.

on the night of july 10 this year, heavy rainfall occurred in sanhui town, zhong county. 32 retired soldiers in the town quickly joined the front line of flood fighting and rescue operations, notifying people from door to door, evacuating nearly 400 people, and cooperating with local emergency rescue teams to eliminate dangerous situations.
"the people support the army, and the army loves the people." deng dahong said that the care association gathers the society's care for retired soldiers, and at the same time arouses their fighting spirit to charge again and make new achievements. in 2022, the care association followed the trend and established a "retired military volunteer emergency commando team", received more than 30,000 yuan in emergency rescue equipment from the county emergency management bureau, and organized regular training for volunteer emergency commandos.
