on september 29, according to the state administration for market regulation, byd auto industry co., ltd. and byd automobile co., ltd. recently reported to the state in accordance with the requirements of the "regulations on the management of recalls of defective automobile products" and the "implementation measures of the regulations on the management of recalls of defective automobile products". the state administration for market regulation has filed a recall plan and decided to recall the following vehicles starting from september 30, 2024.

1. byd automobile industry co., ltd.

recall some domestic dolphin and yuan plus electric vehicles produced between february 4, 2023 and december 26, 2023, a total of 87,762 units.

2. byd automobile co., ltd.

recall some domestic yuan plus electric vehicles produced between november 2, 2022 and june 19, 2023, a total of 8,952 units.

some vehicles within the scope of this recall are due to the manufacturing process of the electric power steering column assembly (ceps) controller. when the upper cover of the equipment tooling is closed, it interferes with the capacitor on the controller circuit board, causing micro cracks in the capacitor. during vehicle use, microcracks in the capacitor may expand and cause a short circuit, causing the capacitor to overheat, ablate, or even catch fire, posing a safety risk.

byd auto industry co., ltd. and byd auto co., ltd. will entrust byd authorized dealers to install controller insulating gaskets for vehicles within the recall scope for free to eliminate safety hazards.
