ifeng.com technology news (author/han tianshu) on september 29, according to the state administration of market regulation, byd auto industry co., ltd. and byd automobile co., ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the implementation measures of the regulations, the recall plan was filed with the state administration for market regulation.it has been decided to recall some vehicles starting from september 30, 2024.

specifically, byd auto industry co., ltd. will recall some domestic dolphin and yuan plus electric vehicles produced between february 4, 2023 and december 26, 2023, a total of 87,762 units; the company will also recall november 2, 2022 a total of 8,952 units of some domestically produced yuan plus electric vehicles were produced between june 19 and june 19, 2023.

the reason for this recall is that there are problems in the manufacturing process of the electric power steering column assembly (ceps) controller of some vehicles. the specific manifestation is that when the upper cover of the equipment tooling is closed, it interferes with the capacitor on the controller circuit board, resulting inmicrocracks occur on the surface of the capacitor. over time, these microcracks may expand further and cause short circuits, which in turncausing capacitor overheating, ablation, and even risk of fire, posing a potential threat to the safety of vehicle users.
