on september 24, the 2024 national youth gymnastics u series championship came to a close at the chengdu dong'an lake sports park multi-functional gymnasium.

the event is hosted by the gymnastics management center of the general administration of sport of china and the chinese gymnastics association, with the sichuan provincial sports bureau and chengdu sports bureau as supporting units, and undertaken by the people's government of longquanyi district, chengdu.

the event attracted 19 teams from all over the country. more than 170 athletes, coaches, referees, technical officials and others gathered at dong'an lake. this competition was the first national youth gymnastics competition after the paris olympics. the athletes competed fiercely in floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vaulting horse, parallel bars, horizontal bar, balance beam and uneven bars. in the 6-day competition, all the champions were determined.

as a traditional advantage of chinese competitive sports, gymnastics is booming in chengdu. the venue of this event, the chengdu dong'an lake sports park multifunctional gymnasium, has hosted the 2021 national gymnastics championships, the 2022 national gymnastics championships, and the chengdu universiade gymnastics competition, and has accumulated rich experience in organizing competitions. it is worth mentioning that the 55th gymnastics world championships will be held in chengdu in 2027. as a qualifying competition for the 2028 los angeles olympics, this event will once again help chengdu build a name card for "a world-famous event city."
