the state council information office held a series of press conferences on "promoting high-quality development" on the 25th. a reporter asked: we have noticed that the "museum fever" has been heating up in the past two years, and some popular museums have also encountered difficulties in making reservations and getting tickets. how does the state administration of cultural heritage view this phenomenon? will it take relevant measures to deal with these problems?

liu yang, director of the museum and social cultural relics department of the state administration of cultural heritage, said that museums have been heating up in recent years, and some popular museums have become hard to get tickets. here i would like to share a set of data with you. as of the end of august this year, the 6,833 museums officially registered nationwide have received 940 million visitors, of which 299 million were received in the two months of summer vacation. among them, the number of visitors received in six provinces exceeded 15 million, including jiangsu, shandong, beijing, zhejiang, shaanxi, and guangdong province. popular museums such as the palace museum and the national museum of china have become the first choice for public tourism. last month, the 10th museum and related products and technology expo was held in hohhot, inner mongolia. in just four days, the number of visitors exceeded 350,000. you may have heard about the ancient egyptian civilization exhibition being held at the shanghai museum. since it was officially launched on july 19, the number of visitors has reached 580,000 in the two months, basically 10,000 per day.

liu yang pointed out, "these data show that the public's demand for high-quality cultural products is getting higher and higher, and the requirements for our work are also getting higher and higher. as museum practitioners, we will continue to strengthen and improve our work in the following aspects."

first of all, we need to expand the supply capacity of high-quality culture. in fact, behind the "museum fever" is the problem of "uneven heat and cold" of museums. how to make museums hot evenly is the first problem to be faced, and we will continue to coordinate the development of museums of different categories. in the first half of this year, a new list of key museums jointly built by the central government and local governments was announced. for these large museums, they will be guided to play a demonstration and leading role, and high-quality cultural resources will be directly delivered to the grassroots through large museums leading small museums, touring exhibitions, loan exhibitions, and joint exhibitions. at the same time, a plan to improve small and medium-sized museums will be launched to guide more than 4,000 small and medium-sized museums to develop in a distinctive and differentiated manner, providing more choices for everyone.

secondly, continue to optimize the opening services. on july 1 this year, at the beginning of the summer vacation, a notice on doing a good job in the opening services of summer museums was issued. it did not adopt a one-size-fits-all approach, and required all localities to scientifically implement the reservation mechanism according to actual conditions. according to statistics, most of the 6,833 museums in the country, except for some popular museums, have cancelled the reservation mechanism. due to work needs or because of different situations in various places, those that continue to retain the reservation mechanism have also been further optimized, such as retaining manual ticket windows and telephone reservations. now nearly 1,200 of the 1,662 first-, second- and third-level museums in the country have extended their service hours and extended the opening hours of the museums. in response to the problems of "scalpers" grabbing tickets and social explanations, special consultations have been held with the ministry of culture and tourism and the ministry of public security recently. places like beijing have also launched special rectification actions to combat "scalpers". next, we will continue to focus on hot issues such as appointment visits and explanation services to strengthen standardized guidance and ensure the basic public cultural rights and interests of the masses.

thirdly, we will actively expand service forms and create a "museum around the public". we will use some new technologies and new means to develop "cloud exhibitions", "cloud education" and "cloud live broadcasts" to create a new curatorial model that combines online and offline. at the same time, by bringing museums into communities and campuses, we will create mobile museums, strive to build a museum "life circle" that is compatible with economic and social development and the public's needs for a better life, open up the "last mile" of cultural supply, and strive to let the people enjoy better quality and more convenient cultural services.
