yesterday (24th), an inverted t-shaped area of about 29,100 square meters around beijing's dongzhimen transportation hub was unveiled after an environmental upgrade. as one of the bearing areas of dongcheng district's "golden triangle of science and technology innovation", this area has unveiled a brand new "urban living room" outside dongzhimen through road paving, new landscape sketches and rest spaces, and parking space marking.
go east from dongzhimen subway station, and in the south of dongzhimen outer street, the gray landscape wall stretches all the way north. newly planted coreopsis, lemongrass, silverleaf, green bamboo, and lilac are scattered along the roadside. residents sit and children play on the scattered wooden chairs and stone steps. the landscape wall is dotted with the introduction of dongzhimen's history and culture, and inside the wall is the quaint building of dongzhimen outer mosque.
"a total of eight such landscape nodes have been added along the 1-kilometer dongzhimenwai xiejie street, echoing the high-quality industrial spaces outside dongzhimen such as the xinda center, to create an 'urban living room'," said he wenpu, deputy director of dongzhimen sub-district.
