from september 19 to 22, 2024, the 27th neurology academic conference of the chinese medical association was officially held in zhengzhou, hosted by the chinese medical association, the neurology branch of the chinese medical association, undertaken by the henan medical association, and co-organized by the henan provincial people's hospital and the first affiliated hospital of zhengzhou university.

the project launched this time focuses on tianzhi granules, a modern preparation with profound traditional medical wisdom. through rigorous clinical research, it will not only further verify its effectiveness and safety in treating liver yang hyperactivity syndrome, but more importantly, we will jointly explore and establish a set of scientific and accurate liver yang hyperactivity syndrome assessment scales to provide more accurate diagnosis and treatment basis for clinical practice.

the second part of the meeting was a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement hosted by professor chen wenwu, former vice president of the first affiliated hospital of henan university. professor yang guangyuan, president of the inner mongolia autonomous region hospital of traditional chinese medicine, and ma yun, marketing general manager of zhongjing wanxi pharmaceutical, signed the cooperation agreement as representatives of the hospital and the company respectively.

professor bi qi, honorary president of the beijing neurological society, as the main researcher of the project, introduced the clinical efficacy/safety study of tianzhi granule in the treatment of liver yang hyperactivity syndrome and the validation study plan of the liver yang hyperactivity syndrome assessment scale. the experimental design adopts a multicenter, prospective, open, observational study. 50 research centers across the country are planned to include 1,300 cases that meet the inclusion criteria. the research period is 12 months. the liver yang hyperactivity syndrome clinical assessment scale is used to evaluate the effectiveness of tianzhi granule in clinical treatment, and the scale is further validated through clinical efficacy as a preliminary test for the next large-sample clinical study.

professor yu fengchun introduced the clinical application and precautions of the liver yang hyperactivity syndrome assessment scale. liver yang hyperactivity syndrome is a common symptom in chinese medicine symptomatology, but it lacks quantitative indicators. in the scientific research and clinical practice of combining chinese and western medicine, it is difficult for non-tcm doctors to judge symptoms. the development of a symptom clinical scale will help non-tcm doctors to judge symptoms and choose drugs.

professor zhou daoyou from guangdong provincial hospital of traditional chinese medicine took the clinical value of tianzhi granules in the field of neurological diseases as the theme, and shared his experience from the source of tianzhi granules' formula, mechanism of action, and application in neurological diseases. he focused on the specific application of tianzhi granules in vascular dementia, primary hypertension, parkinson's disease, neurasthenia, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder in adolescents, headache, vertigo and other diseases.

professor xie chunming of the zhongda hospital affiliated to southeast university gave a lecture on the research progress of ad blood biomarkers. he shared in detail the epidemiological background, pathogenesis, diagnostic framework, clinical characteristics of therapeutic drugs and the current status of research on various indicators of ad blood biomarkers.

professor yuan junliang from peking university sixth hospital shared his views on clinical research related to non-motor symptoms of parkinson's disease. based on the research of the project team and the completed research, he discussed the intricate relationship between different depressive characteristics and cognitive decline and motor deterioration, providing reliable evidence for the adverse effects of depression on parkinson's disease.

after each topic, the guests actively asked questions and interacted, and the experts at the meeting answered their questions and resolved their doubts.

the convening of this academic conference promoted the research on the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases and liver yang hyperactivity syndrome by combining traditional chinese and western medicine, deeply explored the advantages of combining traditional chinese and western medicine, and strived to provide patients with better-quality and more efficient medical services.
