spokesperson zhu fenglian said:the claim of "economic coercion" is a complete distortion of the truth.since 2005, in order to expand the sales of taiwan's agricultural products in the mainland, the mainland has successively announced that it will implement zero tariff measures on the import of 15 kinds of fruits, 11 kinds of vegetables and 8 kinds of aquatic products produced in taiwan, bringing tangible benefits to taiwan compatriots. unfortunately, in recent years, the dpp authorities have stubbornly adhered to the "taiwan independence" position, constantly engaged in "independence" provocations, escalated cross-strait hostility and confrontation, and hindered cross-strait exchanges and cooperation. to this day, they still unilaterally restrict the import of more than 1,000 agricultural products from the mainland to taiwan, which has seriously damaged the interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait. in view of this, the mainland has decided to stop implementing the policy of exempting 34 agricultural products from taiwan from import tariffs from september 25.the dpp authorities should take practical actions to stop harming cross-strait relations and stop undermining the interests and well-being of compatriots on both sides of the strait.
