the award ceremony of the first national fitness competition (east china region) was held on september 21 at the central plaza of huangpu bund in shanghai.
the first national fitness competition (east china region) brings together five provinces and one city, namely shanghai, jiangsu, zhejiang, fujian, shandong and anhui. relying on the advantageous resources of each region, it closely combines tourism resources, fashionable sports and traditional sports to create a "travel with the event" national fitness-themed competition model, and promote the integrated development of commerce, travel, culture, sports and exhibitions in the east china region.
following the "5+n+x" requirements of the state sports general administration, the first national fitness competition (east china region) has a variety of events, including mandatory events, optional events and carnival activities. the mandatory events strictly follow the requirements of the state sports general administration to ensure that every competition is conducted to a high standard; the optional events and carnival activities adopt a diversified design, which not only highlights the unique regional culture of east china, but also pays special attention to the needs of different groups, such as integration of the disabled and the healthy, parent-child interaction, farmer fitness, and sports for the elderly.
since the competition started in xuancheng, anhui on april 13, five provinces and one city in east china have successively carried out various events. shanghai has held trials for required events since april, with nearly 100 trials for required events and nearly 3,000 participants; 28 trials for optional events have been held, with nearly 6,000 participants.
in order to commend the various competition areas, event activities and teams that hosted the first national fitness competition (east china region), with the approval of the general administration of sports of china and the social sports center, various awards for this national fitness competition were produced through self-recommendation by each competition area.
seven designated event hosting sites including shanghai's huangpu district were awarded the title of "best competition area"; 12 events including "dragon and lion dance" and "urban orienteering" won the "most distinctive event" award; 17 teams including the "shanghai men's futsal team" won the "best sports team" award.
according to the "general rules of competition for the first national fitness competition" and the competition rules for the finals of relevant individual events, the east china champion team will represent the east china region in the finals of each specified event of the first national fitness competition held in october and november.
