on the morning of september 21, the opening ceremony of the wheelchair dance promotion activity for the guangdong-hong kong-macao national paralympic games and special olympics was held in guangzhou. the promotion activity will last until september 24, and wheelchair dance students from 8 teams from all over the country will gather together to exchange ideas, enhance communication and improve their skills.
the activity is mainly divided into three parts: theoretical explanation, technical practice and competition simulation.
the theoretical explanation focuses on the current development of wheelchair dance projects in china, training methods and scoring rules; the technical practice specially invites konstantin vasilyev, chairman of the ipc (now wpds) wheelchair dance technical committee, to provide on-site teaching guidance on wheelchair dance techniques to the participants; the competition simulation simulates a wheelchair dance competition, allowing students to understand and become familiar with the competition process and engage in exchanges and sharing.
it is reported that wheelchair dance is a mass competition event of the national games for the disabled and the special olympics. the guangdong disabled persons' federation and the guangzhou disabled persons' federation have long been committed to promoting the development and popularization of this event, which has a good mass base. wheelchair dance promotion activities have been held in guangzhou for two consecutive years. the event aims to promote the development of domestic wheelchair dance projects, discover and cultivate wheelchair dance talents, create opportunities for more disabled people to communicate and a stage to showcase their talents, and train teams for the 2025 national games for the disabled and the special olympics.
