on september 19, the wrap-up ceremony of the cinema movie "searching for flavors in jianmen pass" (tentative name), which was jointly produced by the publicity department of guangyuan municipal party committee, was held at cuiyun gallery, marking that the shooting of guangyuan's first shu road-themed cinema movie has been completed and has officially entered the post-production stage.
"searching for flavors in jianmen pass" takes love as the main line, focusing on the protection of ancient cypresses and the changes in shu road over 20 years. it tells the story of three generations of people, including li jinhong, a mother who inherited her family business and ran a century-old cold noodle shop, cheng xi, her daughter who was undecided about whether to stay in her hometown or go out to explore the world when she just graduated from school, and hu chunhua, a grandmother who suffers from alzheimer's disease and needs care.
the film was shot entirely in guangyuan city, with the main filming locations being cuiyun corridor, jianmen pass and lanma wall in jiange county, as well as liangjiangkou in the main urban area of guangyuan city. it focuses on promoting local delicacies such as jianmen tofu banquet and empress steamed cold noodles, as well as cultural beauties such as jianmen shu road and daughter's festival. by then, audiences will be able to more vividly experience the unique charm of shu road culture and the spiritual outlook of the people of bashu in the new era through the big screen.
according to the relevant person in charge of the publicity department of guangyuan municipal party committee, the purpose of creating this film is to promote the integration of bashu culture into literary and artistic creation and production, deeply interpret the culture of shu road, promote guangyuan's food and scenery, explore the rich history and humanities, and show the charm of guangyuan. through the combination of "movie" + "culture and tourism", we will explore the connotation of shu road culture, tell guangyuan's story well, empower guangyuan's city brand promotion with light and shadow, and vividly show the good city brand image of guangyuan and the thousand-year-old shu road.
"it was my first time to shoot a film of this theme, which was both a challenge and a motivation. during the creation and shooting process, we strived to make every plot and every detail authentic and believable, hoping to touch the hearts of the audience. i am also looking forward to the finished film." director ding zheng said that the scenery of the ancient shu road at jianmen pass is unique, and he would take his family to guangyuan again if he has the chance. actress wu zitong, who plays the leading actress, couldn't help but praise the scenery of the shu road in guangyuan. she said: "guangyuan is beautiful. coming here, i really understand the meaning of traveling thousands of miles, and the knowledge about the shu road in the book has been concretized. "the taste of jianmen pass" is also a work i like very much. it shows the local culture of guangyuan very well and is worth watching."
it is understood that "searching for flavors in jianmen pass" as a provincial key film project that continues the historical context and promotes bashu culture has been included in the city's propaganda, ideology and cultural work priorities. it has taken more than a year to prepare and 23 days to shoot. it is about 90 minutes long and incorporates guangyuan's local copyrighted music. it is expected to meet audiences across the country in march 2025.
