on the same day, at the world seed congress variety display base, the opening ceremony of the 2024 china farmers' harvest festival fengtai district celebration and the fengtai district special performance of the "rural stage" of the 35th beijing farmers' art festival were held.
at around 9 a.m., the drum beats of the "strange village taiping drum" sounded, and the celebration began with a special intangible cultural heritage performance that combined "pomegranate village zhongfan and martial arts."

the event is divided into three parts: 100,000 projects, rural industries, and high-quality development, and is jointly created with china oriental performing arts group. in the morning, the chorus "chairman mao came to our hometown", the dance "asking the heaven with wine", the instrumental ensemble "returning in late spring", the song "blooming", and the allegro "singing fengtai with five qi lianzhi" were performed one after another.
nangong village, maliandao village and other first five "fengcai villages" for rural revitalization were awarded on site. it is understood that according to the deployment requirements of beijing's "100 demonstration villages, 1,000 revitalization villages" project, fengtai district selected a group of village collectives with good foundations and great development potential based on actual conditions and launched the first five "fengcai villages". the relevant person in charge of agriculture and rural areas in fengtai district said that he hopes that "fengcai villages" will play a role as a model demonstration, strive to tap into rural characteristic resources, strengthen the collective economy, and further promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
this celebration event allowed farmers to "play the leading role" and take the stage to tell the story of "our village" and show the stories of farmers' increased income and wealth. "in our dianqi village, the fragrance of rice is everywhere... the perfect combination of camping and rice fields is the bright spot in this picture." as chen lina, a villager of dianqi village, said, rural tourism has become one of the main means for farmers to increase their income.
in recent years, fengtai district has deepened the "xiaoyue fenghua" leisure agriculture brand, cultivated new business formats of "agriculture + live broadcast" and "agriculture + camping", and has formed an industrial structure of 1 beautiful leisure village, 2 "beijing excellent agriculture" brands, and 14 star-rated leisure agriculture parks. in the first half of this year, fengtai district's leisure agriculture received 1.219 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 2.43%.
in august this year, fengtai district issued the opinions on high-quality development of rural collective economy in fengtai district (2024-2026), proposing to promote high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas with new quality productivity. strengthen the four characteristic fields of modern seed industry, characteristic flowers, market logistics, and smart agriculture, shape the three development models of integrated economy, service economy, and new quality economy, and build a new pattern of "4+3" rural industrial development.
fengtai district also took the lead in exploring the "financial deputy village chief" work mechanism in the city, helping the collective economy to find a new path for development. the collective industrial space promotion conference held added more than one million square meters of industrial space, attracted more than 200 million yuan of social capital investment, and 845 collective asset projects were transferred in total, covering an area of more than 1.9 million square meters.
