"after the launch of this car, we first went back to the car factory to do durability tests in harsh environments, and then served the crews shooting in two different environments, rainforest and desert under high temperature, providing them with great help." zeng wei, technical director of youku's broadcasting, said. the first crew served by youku's film and television production car was "dark river legend", which happened to be in the rainy season when it joined the crew. the continuous rain for several days was a severe test for the crew's location shooting. the transportation of hardware equipment required more careful waterproofing, which had a great impact on the crew's work efficiency and the safety of the shooting materials. thanks to the one-stop solution provided by the film and television production car and the data center in the front cabin of the vehicle, the crew of "dark river legend" passed this period efficiently and smoothly.
"in the past, when the crew started work, they needed to set up multiple work tents on the set, and they had to dismantle and assemble them repeatedly when changing scenes, which was even more troublesome on rainy days. now, tents for multiple types of work are "stored" in this car, and the transition can be completed in 20 minutes; and the shooting materials are directly stored in the data center inside the car, ensuring the absolute safety of the materials. it can be said that this car minimizes the impact of rainy days on the crew." zeng wei said.
in addition to helping the crew to efficiently and smoothly get through the plum rain season, this film and television vehicle also made great contributions in the desert. in august, the high temperature and sandstorms almost made it impossible for a film crew to operate normally. "the temperature in the desert is too high. the computer of the on-site editor often cannot work due to the high temperature. the crew has to use a hair dryer to clean the equipment every half an hour, otherwise the strong wind and sand will also cause hardware damage and increase the instability factor." zeng wei said. with the addition of the film and television vehicle, the film crew's location shooting became smooth. the high-gain antenna of the film and television vehicle can also bring the operator's network to the scene. in places with no signal at all, such as canyons or uninhabited areas, it still achieves full wifi coverage, building a bridge for the crew to communicate with the outside world and ensuring the safety of the crew.
