according to the hong kong film industry association, the hong kong film producers association has decided to recommend the film "kowloon walled city: the besieged" to represent hong kong, china in the 97th academy awards for best international feature film. it is reported that the selection was made by the "academy award best international feature film-hong kong region jury" from hong kong films released between november 2023 and september 2024, and "kowloon walled city: the besieged" was elected with the majority of votes.
