correx connected services has been piloted in europe
corus connected services is primarily aimed at heavy-duty commercial fleets. the initial product focuses on improving visibility into battery status, helping fleets avoid unexpected downtime and improve operational efficiency. corus is working with a european fleet operator to use corus' hardware, data analytics and software to reduce unnecessary idling. by sending real-time alerts to drivers, prompting when to start and stop the engine to maintain a superior battery charge state, vehicle idling time can be significantly reduced while maintaining heating and air conditioning system functions, maintaining a comfortable interior environment, and avoiding the risk of a dead battery. reducing unnecessary idling will help drivers and commercial fleets save fuel costs and reduce emissions. preliminary results show that 40% of unnecessary idling time can be saved, equivalent to heavy-duty trucks in europe, the middle east and africa, saving 1,300 euros in fuel per vehicle and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2,500 kilograms per year.
