microsoft pushes first hotfix to windows server 2025 in public preview

it home reported on september 21 that technology media neowin reported yesterday (september 20) that microsoft announced the release of the first hotpatch for the windows server 2025 evaluation version in the form of a public preview version, and it will be officially launched this fall.

microsoft said in a blog post that windows server 2025 will support hotfixes in both standard and datacenter editions due to its use of the company's azure arc.

support for hotpatching means that windows server 2025 can support, distribute and install important security updates into the operating system without a time-consuming reboot process.

reduce reboots and workload impact: from 12 mandatory reboots per year on patch tuesday, now only one scheduled reboot per quarter (and in rare cases, during the nominal hotpatch month).

fewer installation package files means updates download and install faster while consuming less disk and cpu resources.

easier patch coordination and change control.
