on september 20, at the hangzhou yunqi conference, alibaba cloud officially released the "alibaba cloud security white paper 2024 edition", marking a new stage in its public cloud security strategy. this white paper proposed the concept of "cloud security community" for the first time, aiming to deepen the cooperation between cloud service providers and customers, jointly build a comprehensive and multi-level security protection network, and ensure the security of cloud platforms and cloud assets.

qian lei, president of alibaba group's security department, stressed that while alibaba cloud ensures the security of its cloud services, it also pays more attention to helping customers achieve "safe use of the cloud". to this end, alibaba cloud will focus on technical resources, risk response experience and security governance capabilities to help customers get through the last mile of security experience and achieve a deep integration of cloud platform and customer-side security capabilities.
with the deepening of digital transformation, the trend of enterprises moving to the cloud and using the cloud in depth has intensified, and the cloud security governance system faces new challenges. the "white paper" points out that the traditional "security responsibility sharing model" can no longer meet the current complex and changing security needs. therefore, alibaba cloud proposed the concept of "cloud security community", emphasizing the security of customers' cloud assets as a common goal, and cooperating closely with customers through the cloud platform to jointly respond to security challenges.
under this concept, alibaba cloud will continue to assume security responsibilities for infrastructure, physical equipment, distributed cloud operating systems, and cloud service products, while providing a series of security measures to support customers in formulating and implementing security strategies. for example, customer-configurable security capabilities are incorporated into cloud product design, and security configurations and risk warnings are preset at the initial stage of customer use to reduce security risks.
the white paper also details the eight pillars of alibaba cloud's core security platform and provides cloud security practice cases in industry and business scenarios, aiming to help customers deepen their understanding of cloud security governance and explore security best practices that meet their own needs.
in the future, alibaba cloud will continue to launch new security services and capabilities around the goal of "safe use of cloud", including improving the initial security level of cloud products, reducing cloud security costs, and enhancing security detection and protection capabilities. at the same time, alibaba cloud will also strengthen security science popularization and awareness cultivation, and promote the whole society to contribute to the safe and stable operation under the trend of digitalization.
