zhong dingyou told zhengzheng news that he and his wife went to zijin county, heyuan twice in march and august this year to look for clues about the child. around august 20, he met a kind person in heyuan who told him, "officer wang has found many children this year," and provided officer wang's contact information.

“the happiest mid-autumn festival in 20 years”

the "auntie mei case" is one of the most high-profile cases in the country's fight against child trafficking in the past 20 years.

in march 2016, the trafficker zhang weiping was arrested. it was not until june 2017 that zhang weiping confessed to the zengcheng police that the children were sold to zijin county, heyuan city, guangdong province through "auntie mei". in addition to shen cong, he also trafficked 8 other children.

shen junliang said that shen cong was abducted in zengcheng, guangdong on january 4, 2005, and zhong bin was abducted in shiwan town, huizhou, guangdong on december 31, 2004. the two were abducted not far from each other, and the time interval between them was also very short.

in october 2017, shen junliang met zhong bin's father zhong dingyou for the first time, and he and zhong dingyou went to zijin county every year since then. "every time we went, we were looking for aunt mei, hoping to find zhong bin through this clue."

around 2017, facial recognition technology was not as advanced as it is today. it was not until january 2020 that shen junliang received news from the police that shen cong had been found through facial recognition technology.

for 19 years, 8 months and 19 days, zhong dingyou and his family were looking forward to their son zhong bin returning home every day.

zhong dingyou said that after zhong bin was abducted, she gave birth to three more children: two sons and one daughter. "my second son is 19 years old, my youngest son is 8 years old, and i have a 10-year-old daughter."

zhong dingyou told "zheng news", "it will be exactly 20 years since zhong bin was abducted in two months. i am really grateful to everyone for helping me (find zhong bin), i am so grateful."

on the last day of 2004, zhong bin was abducted. zhong bin's grandfather could not accept this fact, and his health deteriorated, and he passed away in 2007. in 2023, zhong bin's grandmother also passed away.

"(zhong bin's) grandparents both passed away with regrets. if my mother could hold on for another year, she would still be able to see zhong bin (come home)." zhong dingyou said regretfully.

in april 2023, the guangzhou intermediate people's court announced that in accordance with the execution order issued by the supreme people's court, the guangzhou intermediate people's court of guangdong province executed zhang weiping and zhou rongping, two criminals in the "auntie mei case" on april 27, 2023. the core suspect in the case, "auntie mei", has not yet been arrested.

the discovery of zhong bin means that the pain brought to parents by the "auntie mei case" is gradually approaching the "finish line".

the only child who has not been found is ouyang jiahao.

ouyang jiahao was born in november 2002. his biological parents are from hunan. he was abducted in xiancun town, zengcheng, guangzhou, guangdong on may 26, 2005. his parents are still looking for him.
