the airpods pro 2 firmware version number is 7A302, higher than the previous 7a294, while the airpods 4 firmware version number is 7A304。

apple has not officially disclosed what the above firmware includes. in the firmware update released by apple for airpods pro 2 headphones a week ago, new ios 18 features such as head gestures and voice isolation were added.

apple is adding hearing aid and hearing test features to airpods pro 2, so this update may introduce those capabilities or lay the foundation for future updates.

apple plans to launch hearing aid features for airpods pro 2 this year and has obtained fda approval. apple is unlikely to push this feature to airpods 4.
