today, a c919 aircraft of comac took off from chengdu shuangliu international airport in sichuan and landed smoothly at lhasa gonggar international airport in tibet after a 2-hour and 8-minute flight.this is the first time that the c919 aircraft has arrived in lhasa, reuniting with the arj21 aircraft that was conducting a demonstration flight on the qinghai-tibet plateau, the "roof of the world".

lhasa gonggar international airport is located in the yarlung zangbo river valley, at an altitude of 3,569 meters. it is surrounded by numerous mountains and the weather environment is complex and changeable, which places high demands on the aircraft's plateau operating performance.during the flight to lhasa, the c919 aircraft will carry out environmental control,airr&d test flights of key systems for high-altitude operation, such as electrical and power units, and high-altitude airport adaptability inspections, laying the foundation for meeting the subsequent high-altitude route operation needs and plateau type research and development.

starting from august 21, 2024, arj21 aircraft has carried out "around the qinghai-tibet plateau" demonstration flights with chengdu, sichuan, xining, qinghai and lhasa, tibet as its operating bases. so far, it has completed 25 routes, 55 flight segments, and 62 hours of flight missions, covering 11 high-altitude airports, and has flown to daocheng yading airport, the world's highest civil airport, four times, fully verifying the adaptability of arj21 aircraft to high-altitude operations.
