this year's creative competition has been innovatively upgraded and set up six major tracks.
1. cultural and creative projects
the project focuses on cultural innovation projects that use cultural content creation and industrial integration as a means to update and apply six "urban spaces", including cultural relics and architectural spaces, public cultural service spaces, cultural industrial parks, protection and utilization of historical and cultural blocks, new performing arts spaces, and transformation of traditional business districts. special emphasis is placed on promoting the creation of new cultural formats and new consumption scenarios in xicheng district, and historical buildings or blocks in xicheng district are selected to collect practical cases and conceptual plans in terms of space design, format improvement, and operation management.
2. cultural and creative product development track
we are soliciting design products that creatively express the traditional culture of xicheng district from home and abroad, including the design of chinese time-honored brands, intangible cultural heritage cultural and creative products; the design of xicheng ip images, characteristic theater cultural and creative products, landmark architectural cultural and creative products; and cultural tourism consumer product design. in the form of souvenirs, cultural and creative products, tourist souvenirs and craft products, we will create cultural and creative products that have chinese culture, beijing stories, xicheng quality, and can be widely used in the cultural and tourism scenes of xicheng district.
(iii) aigc application innovation track
we are soliciting aigc technology application platforms and tools, as well as innovative content that are closely related to china's excellent traditional culture, the cultural heritage of beijing's central axis, and xicheng culture, with a focus on showcasing aigc technology applications, as well as the application and promotion of aigc technology in the fields of cultural finance, creative design, cultural performances, cultural tourism, etc. in xicheng district.
(iv) creative design service track
we will fully tap into the rich cultural resources of xicheng district and use creative design tools and methods to fully display the excellent historical sites, celebrity residences, museums, special business districts, intangible cultural heritage, cultural brand resources, etc. of xicheng district. it mainly includes three content directions: humanities trail design, intangible cultural heritage study route design, and cultural brand communication design.
(v) new audio-visual content innovation track
we are soliciting new audio-visual content technology platforms and tools, as well as projects and products that integrate new audio-visual with other technologies. with "audio-visual xicheng" as the creative direction, centering on the cultural ip of "the origin of the city, the beginning of the capital, and the end of the river", relying on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, we will present new audio-visual works that integrate excellent traditional chinese cultural resources and new media technology with artistic innovation, and reflect the local life and folk customs of beijing, as well as the latest achievements of cultural construction. including but not limited to innovative works such as animation, short dramas, micro-films, short music videos, and games.
(vi) original script writing track
focusing on the three major themes of beijing's "four cultures", new performing arts spaces, and xicheng elements, we will deeply explore and display xicheng's regional cultural characteristics, historical customs, and modern development achievements, create original high-quality scripts that can reflect the spirit of the times and inherit the essence of culture, and tell chinese stories, beijing stories, and xicheng stories well. including original stage plays (dramas, children's plays, musicals, dance dramas, operas), new performing arts space scripts, etc.
during the competition, special salons, intangible cultural heritage experience activities, seminars, exchanges, cultural and creative markets and other activities will be held, and more outstanding creative projects will be brought to the public eye.
the competition submission period is from september 15 to october 25, 2024. after that, the works will be selected in the form of auditions, preliminary rounds, semi-finals and finals, and the award ceremony is planned to be held in december.
