hezbollah issued a statement early on the 17th saying that pagers carried by several members of the organization exploded that afternoon, killing a girl and two members of hezbollah and injuring a large number of people across the country. according to lebanese media mtv, the batteries in the pagers used by the injured hezbollah members were remotely detonated. the public health emergency operations center of the lebanese ministry of public health issued an emergency statement, requiring all people carrying pagers to throw them away immediately.
