it is understood that one of the two was carrying a white backpack, wearing white shoes, goggles on his hat, and a white jersey under his jacket. the other had long hair, wore black clothes, a white backpack, and glasses. both carried hiking poles and were about 25 years old. friends of the two missing persons said that the man wearing a hat was named zhang, about 1.8 meters tall; the man with long hair was named xu, about 1.77 meters tall, thin, and fair-skinned.

a staff member of ningshan county emergency management bureau told red star news that the man surnamed xu is not in danger of death and is being treated. the deceased man surnamed zhang was 23 years old and from henan province. his body was found on the edge of a cliff, which is high above the ground. "the rescue was difficult. the town sent many people to help. after a day of rescue yesterday, the body was not brought down from the mountain until 10 pm."

according to media reports, staff from the guanghuojie town government said that the area the two men entered belongs to the qinling nature reserve, which is prohibited in principle. there are people controlling the entrance to the mountain pass, but similar incidents continue to occur.
