on september 17, the chinese delegation returned home with great success after achieving historic results at the 47th worldskills competition. the human resources and social security departments of guangdong province and guangzhou city warmly welcomed the chinese delegation at guangzhou baiyun international airport. as soon as the chinese delegation walked out of the international arrival hall of the international airport, they were surrounded by flowers. the welcoming teachers, student representatives, and family members of the contestants expressed their warm congratulations and high respect.
the 47th worldskills competition was held in lyon, france from september 10 to 15. more than 1,400 contestants from 70 member countries and regions of the worldskills organization participated in the competition. the chinese delegation of 68 contestants participated in all 59 events in 6 categories. the fierce competition in this worldskills competition, the great changes in technical rules, and the lack of experience in participating in international competitions in some events have increased the uncertainty of participating. however, the contestants withstood the pressure and performed very well. they helped the chinese delegation achieve excellent results with works or services of better quality, higher precision and more standardized. a total of 36 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and 8 excellence awards were won, and 57 of the 59 events won awards. the medal rate of participating projects was as high as 97%. it ranked first in the gold medal list, medal list and team total score for four consecutive sessions, fully demonstrating the chinese youth's spirit of excellence and innovation, vividly interpreting the pure feelings of skill success and skill serving the country, and fully demonstrating the spirit of positive progress and high morale.
