this year's "ditan book fair" has ten exhibition areas, including thematic publishing special exhibition area, "old books and new knowledge" area, physical bookstore block, famous publishing house boutique exhibition and sales area, national reading promotion area, special book block, children's book parent-child reading area, foreign language original book area, special discount book exhibition and sales area, and cultural and creative product area.
more than 140 publishing houses from 15 provinces and cities across the country, including beijing, tianjin, hebei, jiangsu, zhejiang, shanghai, anhui, and shandong, participated in the exhibition, bringing the key publishing achievements of each publishing house to the readers. among them, key publishing houses such as china social sciences press and shanghai translation publishing house were invited to participate for the first time, and the exhibition and sales covered a wide range of fields, both popular and academic.

the physical bookstore block attracted 135 physical bookstores to participate in the exhibition, which is 1.5 times the number of last year. there are many high-quality bookstores in beijing, such as fengrushong, hanfenlou, forbidden city, foreign language teaching and research, sanlian, pageone, zhongshuge, as well as specialty bookstores outside beijing, such as chengdu panda bookstore, nanjing jieziyuan bookstore, and hangzhou boku bookstore, which brought fine books and special cultural and creative products.
the book fair introduced a cultural and tourism promotion conference for the first time. the zhejiang taizhou cultural and tourism exhibition area with the theme of "travel with reading, chasing the sunshine to taizhou" made its debut. the four major exhibition areas such as "taiyouliao" combined with the "harmonious taizhou" market will display cultural and creative products, books, food and interactive experiences with taizhou cultural elements. readers can also experience colorful activities such as flash stamping, and feel the taizhou cultural wave from the east china sea in all aspects.
this year's book fair has put a lot of effort into "product selection". based on the reading preferences and needs of various readers, it has created an immersive thematic book block around four themes: literature and art, history and culture, children's books and picture books, and life and leisure. it highlights the feature of "roaming a street and reading a theme" and enhances the reader experience.

it is worth mentioning that the book market and beijing publishing group jointly launched the collector's edition of shi tiesheng's famous work "i and the earthen altar". this edition not only has important breakthroughs in binding, but also has the rare fact that all the text in the book was re-extracted from mr. shi tiesheng's computer or re-entered from the manuscript, retrieving important texts that were lost in different versions, which is worth collecting by book lovers.
this year's book fair will polish the "old books, new knowledge" brand, allowing old books to find new friends and gain new knowledge from old books. during the beijing book fair, china bookstore, tianjin ancient bookstore, book collection newspaper, kongfuzi old books network, and buyi bookstore will carry out the "beijing-tianjin-hebei joint exhibition and sale of old books", focusing on the sale of ancient books, old books from the republic of china, etc., with more than 100,000 varieties, allowing old books to find new friends and gain new knowledge from old books.

the "old books and new knowledge" section will host six special events, covering knowledge lectures, book sharing, intangible cultural heritage experience and other types of activities. among them, the "new exploration of digital restoration of ancient books - cross-border practice of the functional game "ancient book restorer"" held by china bookstore aims to use gamification to allow readers to immerse themselves in the process of ancient book restoration while enjoying the fun of the game, learn relevant knowledge about ancient book protection, and thus arouse respect and enthusiasm for ancient book culture.
