in august, the production of raw coal, crude oil, natural gas and electricity in large-scale industries (hereinafter referred to as large-scale industries) grew steadily.
i. production of raw coal, crude oil and natural gas and related information
raw coal production grew steadily. in august, the output of industrial raw coal above designated size was 400 million tons, up 2.8% year-on-year, the same growth rate as in july; the average daily output was 12.792 million tons. imported coal was 45.84 million tons, up 3.4% year-on-year.
from january to august, the output of industrial raw coal was 3.05 billion tons, down 0.3% year-on-year, and the import of coal was 340 million tons, up 11.8% year-on-year.
crude oil production grew steadily. in august, the industrial crude oil output was 17.83 million tons, up 2.1% year-on-year, and the average daily output was 575,000 tons. imported crude oil was 49.1 million tons, down 7.0% year-on-year.
from january to august, the output of industrial crude oil was 142.79 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%, and the import of crude oil was 366.91 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%.
crude oil processing has declined. in august, the processing volume of industrial crude oil above designated size was 59.07 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.2%; the average daily processing volume was 1.905 million tons. from january to august, the processing volume of industrial crude oil above designated size was 472.53 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%.
natural gas production has accelerated. in august, industrial natural gas production was 20 billion cubic meters, up 9.4% year-on-year, 1.5 percentage points faster than in july; the average daily output was 650 million cubic meters. imported natural gas was 11.76 million tons, up 9.1% year-on-year.
from january to august, the industrial natural gas output was 163.7 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%, and the import of natural gas was 87.13 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.
2. electricity production
industrial power production above designated size accelerated. in august, industrial power generation above designated size was 907.4 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%, 3.3 percentage points faster than in july; the average daily power generation of industrial power above designated size was 29.27 billion kwh. from january to august, industrial power generation above designated size was 623.79 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%.
in terms of types, in august, industrial thermal power above designated size turned from decline to growth, the growth rate of hydropower declined, and the growth rates of nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generation accelerated. among them, industrial thermal power above designated size increased by 3.7% year-on-year, down 4.9% in july; industrial hydropower above designated size increased by 10.7%, a decrease of 25.5 percentage points from july; industrial nuclear power above designated size increased by 4.9%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points from july; industrial wind power above designated size increased by 6.6%, an increase of 5.7 percentage points from july; industrial solar power above designated size increased by 21.7%, an increase of 5.3 percentage points from july.
