on september 12, the "cultivating new productivity, creating sustainable value - 2023 delta sustainability report release conference" hosted by delta and organized by the responsibility cloud research institute was held in beijing. this is the tenth consecutive year that delta has released a sustainable development report, and it has received the highest rating of "five stars" from the china corporate social responsibility report rating expert committee for four consecutive years. more than 40 guests from the government, academic associations, think tanks, universities, enterprises and media discussed and exchanged views on sustainable development issues at the meeting, and expressed their deep recognition of delta's business philosophy and sustainable development actions. in 2023, delta was awarded the title of "leader" in china's industrial carbon peaking, with a global network of 76% renewable electricity usage, and 91.4% in mainland china; scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions were reduced by 39% compared to the base year, and the sbt net zero phased goal was achieved for two consecutive years, further echoing the dual carbon goals and the development direction of new quality productivity.

wu meihui, chairman of delta china sustainable development committee, said that adhering to the business mission of "environmental protection, energy saving and love for the earth", delta continues to strengthen its core competitiveness and is committed to the sustainable development of enterprises and the environment. in 2023, the investment in innovation and research and development in mainland china will reach 1.47 billion yuan, using technology to promote sustainable development. in terms of climate change governance, the re100 compliance rate of the renewable electricity initiative will be included in the performance indicators of senior executives. in 2023, the proportion of renewable electricity in outlets in mainland china will be 91.4%, and the renewable electricity consumption will be 239.93 million kwh. in addition, wujiang plant 5 uses delta's high-efficiency energy-saving technologies such as energy storage, combined with renewable energy, to obtain dual certifications of "five-star zero carbon factory" and "carbon neutrality". in the social field, delta has increased its investment in talent training, with an average training time of 27 hours per person in 2023, and has been awarded the great employer in greater china. delta also participates in public welfare undertakings such as education, technology, environmental protection and rural development, giving back to the society with practical actions. as of the end of 2023, the delta cup international solar building design competition has attracted a total of 10,732 teams to register, received 2,254 valid works, and 5 winning works have been implemented.
based on its core energy-saving technology, delta has laid out net-zero business opportunities including low-carbon transportation, microgrids and green buildings to implement carbon reduction. from 2010 to 2023, delta's high-efficiency energy-saving products and solutions have helped global customers save approximately 45.5 billion kwh of electricity, equivalent to helping the earth reduce carbon emissions by nearly 23.84 million tons. from 2006 to date, delta has built a total of 35 green factories and green buildings donated by academics, and 2 certified high-efficiency green data centers around the world, including 20 certified factory green buildings and 5 certified academic green buildings. in 2023, a total of 43.26 million kwh of electricity was saved, equivalent to a reduction of 22,694 tons of carbon emissions.
the 2023 delta sustainability report is available through delta's official esg website, sustainable development wechat public account, and video account. delta hopes to further strengthen stakeholder communication and optimize esg management and practice through the release of the report. the china corporate social responsibility report rating began in 2010 and was jointly initiated by the china enterprise reform and development research association and the responsibility cloud evaluation institute, and brought together the forces of all parties to form the "china corporate social responsibility report rating expert committee". the expert committee has issued 1,400 rating reports for more than 400 chinese and foreign companies. it is the most authoritative and influential third-party report quality evaluation system in mainland china and is widely recognized by large chinese and foreign companies.
